Margaux Isaksen vs Chen

This weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Berlin , Germany to watch Margaux compete in her fourth pentathlon world cup of the year. IT WAS GREAT! She finished 16th overall in an extremely strong field. I was happy to see her beat the 2009 World Champion CHEN from China (photo of winning touch with 5 seconds left is above) and the 2008 Olympic Champion SCHONEBORN from Germany in the fencing competition. She had an almost perfect ride scoring 1180 of 1200 and solid performance overall. She was one of three competitors in the top sixteen age 18 or younger in a sport where the top athletes are 5-10 years older than her. Margaux is doing great this year finishing 2nd, 14th, 24th and 16th in the four world cups she has competed and is now ranked 10th in the world! Margaux, we are looking forward to having you with us at the Fencing Nationals in July and good luck at the World Cup Championships in two weeks in Moscow.
